Part of the Brewing Beer in the Buckeye State Series, this third of five volumes giving a pictorial history of Cleveland breweries covers the fourteen breweries (in Cleveland, Lorain, and Sandusky) that comprised the Cleveland & Sandusky Brewing Company. Formed in 1898, Cleveland & Sandusky was one of the largest brewing corporations in pre-Prohibition America. Barely surviving Prohibition, the company continued to operate until 1962, producing local favorites Crystal Rock and Gold Bond Beers, and Old Timers Ale. Spiral-bound, it has 82 pages and nearly 450 images, mostly in color, of people, buildings, labels, signs, and you name it.
