Part of the Brewing Beer In The Buckeye State series, Brewing Beer In The Gem City gives a pictorial history of Dayton, Ohio's brewing industry. Beginning in a small inn and tavern in 1810, beer was brewed at 22 different sites in the city until the last brewery ceased operations in 1952. Forty years later, brewing returned with several brewpubs in Montgomery County, all of which are covered in this book, along with small early breweries in Miamisburg and Germantown. The book contains 300+ images, most of which are in color, showing people, buildings, floor plans, advertising, labels, cans, and you name it! This THIRD EDITION also has coverage of all new brewpubs in Montgomery County as of early 2014.
